Intercooler Dimensions & Misc.
Does anyone have a diagram or dimensions for a front mount intercooler for my 94 G20 Turbo Conversion? Also if anyone knows a reputable place that gives good deals on custom intercoolers let me know. My setup consists of the following:
F-Max Turbo Manifold T3/T4 Turbo w/ F-Max Downpipe Turbonetics Deltagate Wastegate HKS SSV BOV MSD 50lb/hr. Injectors JWT Fuel Rail MSD 6AL Ignition with SS Coil 300ZX TT Fuel Pump Custom Mandrel Exhaust and Intercooler Piping JWT ECU (Yet to Buy) Debating on Lightweight Flywheel ( Worth it or no?) Custom Sheetmetal Intake Manifold by O2 Induction (Gained 50 hp on Dyno on friends turbo 92 SE-R on 18 lbs.) All I need now is the intercooler and ECU and possibly flywheel to be complete for this winters project. Also, do you think my Clutchmasters Stage 3 will hold the power? Oh Sorry, I forgot to state my intentions: I would like to run anywhere from 10 to 18 lbs. on the street and push about 300 reliable WHP. Thanks for any help. |

Flywheel - do it! It's a very nice mod.
As for the hp, i think 300whp should be obtainable somewhere in the upper range of what you are looking to run. I've seen 330+whp put down with less boost than 18psi (i think he was at 16psi). But that was also with no exhaust and race fuel on the dyno. Once you start pushing that much boost, little stuff makes a difference. JWT S3 cams I think will make a pretty substantial difference with boost. They may be the mod to help push you over the 300whp barrier at the boost levels you are looking to run. If you don't already have these, i'd definitly look into them too. Others with more experience with this should be able to give more insight to this as well. I'd also try talking to FTF Motorsports about the intercooler.

I'd just go with the FMAX intercooler while you're at it...
Also.. you're gonna need a Cobra MAF if you're looking for 300whp. I would skip the 02 induction manifold since you dont need it to reach 300whp. You'd be better off investing the money into your tranny. 10 to 18 lbs boost is a big range.... btw, what specs are you getting your t3/t4 in? |

What would you do to the tranny?
I already have the intake manifold and I got a super deal on it. I bought all the F-Max turbo stuff from my best friend because he chickened out on his 96 SE-R so I got all for a steal. The specs are a T3/T04B 60-1 Stage 3 .63 A/R Will the F-Max Intercooler fit my car? Also, won't the F-Max intercooler piping work then so I can save money on the custom fabrication? Who should I go through to find F-Max at the best price? In Wisconsin the only shop that can get F-Max is a place called Hyperformance and they are big dickheads and they completely overcharge. He wanted $1,000 for just the F-Max Manifold |
