Cost Of A Ka24de

so say i buy a cheap ass 89-90 240sx with an old shitty KA24E, how much is a nice KA24DE engine gonna cost? how much is an engine installation on average?

should i do this??... or just fork over 4-5 Gs for a nice 92+ 240sx with a good running KA24 and mod that up

i got my 93 for 2000

the swap from KA24E to KA24DE isnt that much according to some people but personally i would rather just go for the one that comes stock with the DE one, try to find a cheap one and rebuild it if you're going to race or drift, depending on the amount of miles on it

Re: Cost Of A Ka24de

i say buy the 89-90 240....buy a ka24de engine. While the engine is out go ahead and take it apart and do what you got to do....internals or what not, maybe peice together a turbo kit...basically just prep the engine then swap it in and either sell the 24e or keep it for future use. But that depends on your current cash flow. Thats how i would do it...but its your money so do what you want. i dont know your current financial situation.

An old shitty KA24E? There's nothing shitty about my KA24E. Aftermarket support is the only reason I would ever consider swaping for a KA24DE, The extra power isn't that much.

ya stop knocking on the poor ol E, i got one and i love it, but i'd love something else a bit more heh

a rebuilt E with stronger internals is equal to a rebuilt DE with stronger internals, if not, it's close

Re: Cost Of A Ka24de

I just got done swapping in an SR into my car, if you want I will sell you my KA for $400 for the engine and tranny.....I also have a bunch of other parts if you need anything else for the swap. Also if you are ever thinking about an SR swap make sure you get the 91-94 body, it makes the swap a lot easier.

Re: Cost Of A Ka24de

you get lucky everyonce in a while with the SOHC manifolds on ebay. www.gladmanperformance.com makes them but there not open yet. I plan on turboing my SOHC if i dont swap the engine.
