Scan codes 1362 and 1362
Well dropped $400.00 in the GTX today. Got it back and 5 mins. later the "Check Engine" light came on. Took it back and was told that I now have 2 scan codes, 1361 and 1362. Guy shut the check light out. Went to a friends and 5 mins later the car wouldn't start. After a couple mins. the Check eng light came on. And the car started.
Any ideas?

Hi guy,
3rd is 2 10th is a "W" Just ticks me off to take it to a "PRO" and get the shaft. Maybe I should have lost this one to the hurricanes too.

Re: Scan codes 1362 and 1362
Sounds good to me. Bought the car for a good price. $2500.00 to get it old paint off and repaint, $800.00 for tires, swithed PCM out of GTP and today. I think it's time to drive and enjoy this car.
Thanks for the help. Going to have to get a scanner again.

Re: Scan codes 1361 and 1362
Getting ready to call about the car. Anyone have any luck with the codes? Just want to make sure that the right thing gets fixed this time.
Thanks, J

Re: Scan codes 1362 and 1362
Cass and BIG-L,
The dealer just called. Said now they can't find any codes, but the car is still running like junk. They said the last codes they received was the 1361 and 1362. Which is pointing them to the ICM. The part is $289.56 (don't know why it's not $290.00) Called Auto Zone, $159.99, life time warrenty. GM's is 90 days. Are we seeing a plot here? Had to pull the CPU out of it before I took it in. Don't want them to turn it back to stock. Anyone want to buy a GTX?

Thats what it was pointing with those codes was the ICM,sorry I wasnt able to get back to you sooner, but I had to put in some apps early this morning and it's only 10:36.
Sounds like you should get the one from auto zone!It looks like a circuit board that the coil packs sit on. ~Larry~ |

They took it for a test drive. Said everything was fine, TILL they gave it some gas. Up jumped the "SERVICE" light. They are still working on it. Larry, Can I use your credit card?

Re: Scan codes 1362 and 1362
I have two that I use on cars. One paid for this car. That's what I should do, cut up the car and keep the card.
I think what is getting to me is, I haven't driven it yet. Well a couple of times. I haven't even taken any pictures yet. It's only a car, It's only a......

Re: Scan codes 1362 and 1362
Just got off the phone with the shop. Here's what they have. There's a wire that runs from the ICM and the PCU. The wire has a short in it. Right now the car is running perfect. No codes, in either side. If he grabs the wires and moves them, it comes up with the two codes. He thinks it started with the cold air box. The wires sat in one place for almost 6 years. When the box went in, the wires are turned to go back. Says even with the ram air box, the PCM is in the air box. Bending the wires the other way has pressure on the wires that with the heat, that caused them to get brittle. Told him to remount it somewhere else. He looked at me like I was on drugs. Told me "that you just don't move things around." Told him "well I guess you have never built a car before". I'll have to do it when I get it back sometime tomorrow.
Well now we know what it is. Thanks to BIG-L for all your help. And to Cass for all the emails. And thanks to everyone for your ideas.
