does anybody know?

I was just wondering if anybody knew what the hp was going to be for the new NF Sonata? I know that it is going to be a 3.3 Liter V-6, and by guessing from that and putting together what the compotition has in their V-6 I am guessin a 263-310 hp 3.3 L V-6.

Re: does anybody know?

I just read that it is going to be a 3.3 L V-6 at 166 hp. A loss in hp from what it has now, but a definate gain in lieters. That is where it is going to get it's " world's fastest engine in it's class" from.

Umm would you mind posting where you are getting this info from?

263-310 is way too high, plus I do not recall those numbers, as for 166, hmmm that doesn't make sense. I'll have to search around.

TS out

Hyundai Unveils NF Sonata Sedan
Hyundai Motor unveiled it’s much-touted NF Sonata sedan at Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul on Tuesday. The new model was a fruit of Hyundai’s ambitious project, which was undertaken with an aim of developing a “world-class premium sedan." A total of 46 months of research and W290 billion were put into the project.
Hyundai’s vice president Kim Dong-jin said, “The new Sonata, the company's flagship model, will adopt an engine known as the "seta" with a 166 horsepower, which is far better than Toyota’s Camry (159 horsepower) and Honda's Accord (160 horsepower).”

Taking advantage of the new model, Hyundai plans to raise its sales in the North American market from 450,000 units projected this year to 1 million units by 2010, with its Alabama plants starting to produce NF Sonata from March 2005. In China, its Chinese joint venture Hyundai Beijing Automobile will produce the new model starting from second half of next year.

The newly released NF Sonata is the seventh souped-up Sonata model since its launch in 1985, and adopts a whole new platform different from the existing "New EF Sonata," touting advanced safety features and vehicle dynamic control (VDC) system, the firm said.

The nation’s largest carmaker also plans to apply to New Sonata a "Platinum Service," which guarantees a three-year/60,000 kilometers free repair service as well as five free replacements for engine oil and filters during the period. The NF Sonata comes as three models -- "N20," with an engine capacity of 2,000 cc; "F24," with 2,400 cc; and sporty sedan "F24S." Prices range between W16.25 million W25.75 million.

There ya go. And I thought 263-310 hp because that is what the new acura sedan has, and that is what it is going to compete with.
