Re: Odd Noise

Which one? The 98 or the 84? You got to be more specific.

Re: Odd Noise

my 92's struts make noise once in a while. its an odd clunk but nothing shifts or anything, perhaps youre experiencing something similar.

Re: Odd Noise

The reason I ask is because the 98 had FWD, and I am pretty sure that the 84 RWD, so it may not be a strut, but is more likely than not. The 84 has other things in that area that may be making the noise, though. On the 98, definalty a shock absorber.

Sorry I left that info out, its the '98 that is makeing the noise, if it is a shock absorber is it serious or just a noise maker?

speakin of the '84 it makes a squeekiy rattleing noice from around the front tire area, and its loud, like rocks traped in the hubcap, but there are not. what could be??

Thank you

Re: Odd Noise

The 98 is a strut. It doesn't effect handling too much, but it could effect tire wear. I would get it replaced soon. As for the 84 noise, those are the hubcaps. If it has the spoked rims, then the welds somewhere on the spokes broke. The noise is the shifting of the metal. You could try spraying the backs of them with WD-40, but not guarenteed to eliminate the noise. The surefire way to stop the noise is to get a new one(s).
