'96 Tranny or Computer Failure?
I rebuilt the tranny 1 1/2 years ago ($2,600!)
When I stop, if it's in overdrive, then it "neutrals out" until I put it into reverse and move back to overdrive. It works fine if I drive in "drive". After I disconnected the battery, I noticed the car would run in overdrive but seemed to be limping along (safe mode perhaps?). Local mechanic (transmission service) hooked up to computer and replaced some sensors ($150) but that didn't fix the problem. He wants to tear into the tranny. I'm considering taking it to the dealership. Any insight/suggestions? Thanks. |

Re: '96 Tranny or Computer Failure?
the trans died again, whoever did it the first time did a lousy job or you abused it in the time that you had it.
