changing auto to manual and mag conversions?
Hello everyone,
Quick question, I've managed to restore an accidented 93 G20, so being that the car cost me little next to nothing so far I thought I might toy around a little with it. I want to know if there exists a way to convert the wheels of My g20 so I can install some mags I have that are for Honda and also Is it much hard work to convert a G20 to Manual from Automatic? The mechanics out my way won't tell me cuz they assume I haven't got the money to have it done but I can do a lot of the work myself...If anyone knows about any of the 2 things I'm asking about lemme know I'd like to have a little fun with this car.

Now now don`t bash Honda too much.
I enjoyed my Teg experience until all ended so tragically. However I have to admit my G20 is starting to impress me and I really don`t think I`ll be able to go back to honduh

where?
Soeey, do you have any links to the auto - manual conversion pages? The search feature on se-r.net is down at the moment. Thanks.

Someone had stated not to long ago here that they were doing a conversion that week.. not sure how it went, but maybe he will step up and let you guys in on some info...
i havent seen a webpage detailing the process (which would be cool) but i do remember that the mailings on the se-r.net archive werent too detailed... mainly just telling you the parts you'd need, but not what you need to do... i've never done this so i really dont have much to say here... George, you out there?? I've seen a few people ask this question before and everyone always says to read the se-r.net mailing list archives, but i've checked them out of curiousity and they dont really tell you WHAT to do... |

its pretty expensive to do this though...cuz it's a lot of trouble, have to get a new pedal box, cut some holes, a new tranny of course. but it'll be a lot better than an auto

Well a lot of things have happened since I posted this.
My car IS manual now and yes it was freakin tough for the mechanic that did it. I have since been workin on another G20 a friend of mine bought and it is a stolen and recovered vehicle. It's auto so he's gonna do what I did next week. I will post every juicy detail then... I hope that will be good enough for you all...maybe I can even get pics (I have a digital camera)

The only way that I can think to put the honda mags on the G would be to get the lug holes filled, then have custom holes drilled into the wheel. If it is a four lug you could just have new holes drilled inbetween the existing holes. But the ability to do this depends on the style of wheel.
