Gotta brake conversion question?

I have been reading about all sorts of brake kits out there for the Z32 and I have been tring to figure out which would be the best kit to go with. I have been looking at 3 major factors; 1:COST, 2:EFFECIANCY, 3:LIFE.

I wanted to know more about the Skyline brake swap/conversion, how hard is it, and is it worth it? Or is the big brake kits a better conversion?

Thanks.

id probably say that the big brake kits are the best out there but the skyline brake kit im sure is great for the money. i was looking at a rotora one. it was probably the most affordable big brake kit that i have seen for the z32. what are you planning to do? if you have an n/a and you plan on it being just a street car i think that the stock brakes(upgraded rotors, pads, and lines) or skyline brake kit will suffice for your purposes.

Re: Gotta brake conversion question?

I plan on getting it to a weekend SCCA racer, and still keep it as a daily driver. The stock brakes have a alarming tendancy to warp under harsh conditions.

Re: Gotta brake conversion question?

One problem with that kit.....
I have to go up to a 17" rim. Thats not on the shopping list, not looking at changing the wheel size, I like the stock look. Keeps the whole sleeper idea intact. Plus I havent found a 17" wheel thats as light yet, found a few close but I dont like the look.

i don't think you'll be able to find many big break kits that don't require you to change to a 17" rim.. you might even want to if you're doing the skyline swap.. not sure tho

I don't see you going much bigger than what you have in that case. All the Big Brake upgrades I've seen are between 12.5"- 14" and all of them require at least 17" wheels to be installed... I don't know about the exact fitment for the Skyline's brakes though... That might be your only "big brake" upgrade option I guess. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

All you have to do is crossdrill and flycut your rotors and install steel lines and hi temp brake fluid. Make sure you put air ducts on your front brakes to help keep them cool and the'll work fine for SCCA racing. I'll have to look up the name of the pads I use cause they work fine but are noisy till they get hot. The hotter the better.
