um..you would have to get a custom mandrel bent exhaust built unless you could possibly weave the skyline exhaust through the chasis of the 300zx.

you would need motor mounts, custom brackets for your radiator rb25det radiator, rb25det tranny, ECU, custom driveshaft. change the fuel pump over, and then all the necessary piping and wiring. thats all i can think of off the top of my head. probably missed a few things.

Re: rb25det in a 300zx

I believe that the TT tranny (VG30DETT) bolts right unto the RB series engines...

Re: rb25det in a 300zx

Still BIG money to do that swap. Almost as much as the VQ35DE Idea I had.

Re: rb25det in a 300zx

One: The 300zx Radiator Is More Than Efficient Enough For The Rb25det.
Two: The Stock Trans Will Work If You Use The Rb25det Front Case/bellhousing.
Three: Exhaust Will Be All Custom
Four: Motor Mounts Will Need To Be Fabbed, Along With Trans Mount And Driveshaft If You Swap The Tranny.
Five: The Fuel Pump Should Be Sufficent But Will Need To Be Changed If You Plan On Upgrades.
SIX: DEPENDING ON YOUR MOUNTS YOU MAY NEED TO CHANGE TO A REAR SUMP OIL PAN AND PICKUP.

This Is All Assuming You Are Doing This To A Z32. If You Are Doing This To A Z31 It Will Be Alot Easier Because The Z31 Came With A Rb20det In Japan.

Re: rb25det in a 300zx

You Can Use The Rb25det Tranny But The Shifter Position Is Going To Be Hard To Get To Fit.... The Z32 (and Oddly Z33) Uses A Extended Linkage For The Shifter While Most Other Trannies Are Direct.

Ecu You Must Use The Rbs And The Wiring You While Have To Sit Down With Both Wiring Diagrams And Splice Them Together.

You Don't Need A Radiator.... If A Stock 240sx Radiator Can Cool A Rb25det Than A 300zx One Can!

Well mostly because RB26 = (RB25 pricex2) + (RB25 availablity/10)

what do you mean? all 90-96 300zx chasis are the same except for the 2+2 which would be longer. your probably not gonna be able to use the skyline exhaust with a 300zx. different lengths and bends. as for the z31's, they would probably be the easiest swap because in japan they came with a rb20det and converting that to an rb25 would be really practical.
