HID Question --
this is probably not the right forum... oh well.
Looking at picking up a set of HID for the CRX (8000k) with a set of Projectors. but my car has Daytime Running lights. is it a bad idea to have DRL and HID's ? if it is how can I disable the DRL, last time I pulled the fuse out but i lost my reverse lights too. Kun

Re: HID Question --
here maybe the problem I know most Day time driving lights use 60% of the power for running the lights causing them to be dimmer in the day than at night. If you get HID the low power will not start the ballist and will fry the starter. It needs a constant 12+ volts to run them. So if your running lights reduce there voltage for daytime you will not be able to use the HID unless you find a way to bypass the running lights. As far as disabling your daytime lights you may look for the power lead that goes from your ingnition switch to the relay on the Daytime circut. Are the daytime lights after market?

Quote:
Find out 1st if daytime lights really only run off of a lower voltage because the ballasts are meant to run off 12volts, any lower, it can cause the lights to flicker and possibly damage ballasts/bulbs. Ask me any questions about HID in a 4 gen, I've had HID in my car over a year now with no problems.
