Question Revell 1/24 Shelby GT350H

Hello,

I was wondering if the Shelby GT350H kit by revell is any good. I want to know if it has good detail and quality, and if the parts fit together well. If the model kit isnt that great, please let me know a good 1960-1980 muscle car kit by Revell,I really dont care what type it is.

Thanks, Shalin

I haven't built it, but I've seen them built, it's a good kit. Not up to the latest standards-it came out at least 10 years ago for the first time. It won't be hard to build, and detail is good.

Most of Revell's 60's muscle cars are pretty good. Especially good are the '68/'69 Corvette, '68 Firebird, '67 and '69 Charger, '69 Camaro (especially Yenko), '68 Dart. Any of the kits that are 1/25th are better than their older 1/24th muscle cars (and they're all quite decent)...the GT350H is 1/24th, but there's no other Mustang Fastback like it w/o buying a very expensive vintage kit with even less detail.

Model is good, decals suck! It's not the greatest kit they've done, but it's worth the $10 or so. Paint your own Rallye stripes if you want them to look good. The rocker panel stripes were fine though. I have more pics of this model in my gallery if you're interested.

The '70 Challenger is a particularly good model kit i think. Went together with less problems than the last Tamiya kit i did.

I think the kit builds nicely with good proportions, and is pretty convincing. My gripes are with the decals (already mentioned) which are way to dark, and the headlight area. I would test fit the headlights before putting them in.
It is definitely a kit I would buy again! Here is the one I built, which was heavily influenced by "Eleanor" from Gone in 60 Seconds:

U aint kiddin!! That is one of my favorite all time kits! I have 8 of them left to build!!
Here is my most recent build:

I also think the Revell `69 L88 Corvette builds up very nice, with near perfect body lines. Here is one that I built for someone who has a real 1:1 version:

Whoah, i think i will buy this kit. BTW, Hawk, did u use bare metal foil for all the window trim. I usually just use a gundam marker, but is it worth buying the expensive foil?

Thanks,

Shalin

Shalin,
Yeah, I always use the bare metal foil, so I`m not sure hot it compares to the marker you are talking about. Is it a silver marker?
