Cool Excited!!!

I've had my '97 Trans Am for about 8 months now. when I bought it it had the front struts starting to go out and the tires(Kumho Escta Supra 275/40ZR17's, I also have the Firehawk rims) were about 50%. And of course within a month I had them wore down to about 25%, just had to burn out a few times. But even with that, call me a stupid fucker,I still went 160 at least 5 times and 150 more than I can remember, and it felt stable to me. But now I'm going to be getting new struts and tires. I thought my car handled awesome before, I can't even imagine how good it's goin to be.

Re: Excited!!!

no...I can't afford Bilstiens. I'm just goin with the best struts that Napa has to offer, which I'm sure there not the highest in performance, but I don't need stuff like bilstiens. If I had the money I would go with Koni.

How are those tires? They're in the list of ones I'm considering, although I'm leaving towards firehawk indy 500's...

Re: Excited!!!

Like I said earlier I got them with about 50% left, but I was really impressed with them. They were Very sticky until about 25% left. Right now my backs are completely bald and they still hold good at 150mph. One thing that I would say I don't like is that they like to go where the road takes them.

Re: Excited!!!

they look exactly like those. Rubber just doesn't last long enough! Hey, if your wanting a tire that can do something in the snow I would look into the Falkins. There Z rated and an all season and pretty cheap. Yet I hear they're still pretty sticky. You can look at them at Vulcantire.com

Re: Excited!!!

Nevermind...I guess the 502's are discontinued and replaced by the 512's which are better and cheaper.

Re: Excited!!!

Is it worth paying $18 more per tire for the Z rating as opposed to the H, when my limiter is around 130 anyway?

Re: Excited!!!

That your call...I would think the Z rated tires would be more durable, deffinately at that speed. Kinda depends on if you go that fast very often.
