Help........Transmission problem
My son is taking 1993 Ford Escort Transmission out. He ran into some difficulties. He has seperated the transmission from the bell housing, but the transmission won't come out. He is tring to get some more information on the transmission, so he can finish the job at hand. He has tried wiggling it and sticking his hand in as far as he can get it to find what is holding it on. I am looking for information and pictures about the inside of this particular transmission. Thanks for your help.

If he seperated the transmission from the bell housing then this must be a manual transmission. He will need to support the transmission and keep it as level as possible with the engine. Once he does this he will probably need to take a bar and pry gently from side to side to move the input shaft away from the flywheel and clutch. If this doesn't work then remove the clutch fork which will allow the throwout bearing to come out with the transmission. I hope this helps.
