lude vs rsx s

I need some help i am looking into buying a new car ( i have been saving for like 3 years) cant decide on what though? I had my hopes set on a 01 lude sh but i hear once you turbo them they loose the ATTS anyways so then i was going to get a base model but i keep hearing that lude engine dont like mods. What i mean is that mods sign. shorten engine life. I also hear that it is hard to find mods that work well with each other (ie. cam gears, hondata, fuel pressure regulator). Should i get a 05 rsx type s instead. I like the rsx but i am not crazy over the styling and the biggest set back to an rsx is that they are all over the place. what should i do?

Re: lude vs rsx s

you're going to get a heavily biased opinion in this forum. but, as much as i love the prelude and recommend it anyday and everyday, i would suggest the rsx-s.

you're right, preludes aren't as mod-friendly as other hondas. it can be downright a pain in the ass in fact.

here's my conclusion, if you plan on only minor modifications, you like a car that's more exclusive, get the prelude. but consider the bang for the buck factor here. the prelude loses in that respect.

seems like you're wanting to mod the car a bit. so i vote for the rsx-s

if you're looking for a new fast car, the RSX-S is a nice one. Of course you can also get an SRT-4

Re: lude vs rsx s

I don't like the SRT-4 and I don't think you should even consider getting it. A 2.4 engine turbo and can only get 230 out of it? What is that? And I don't like Neons. With a few mods on the type s, it can beat a SRT-4 anyday. The new type s gets 105 hp per liter, I think that is the best anyone has ever gotten out of a N/A engine. The i-vtec on it is real nice.

Re: lude vs rsx s

SRT-4 is the best bang for the buck car on the market right now. Seriously. It has more potential than even the current Mitsu EVO 8. Unlike the EVO's 4g63, the SRT-4's engine has not been maxed out on its potential. A simple and relatively inexpensive turbo upgrade would have it killing Corvettes and stomping on Vipers. Not to mention pretty spiffy handling for a FWD car, and four door accommodations for those who don't ride alone. It's practical, and fast. All this for 20 grand...

A Type S costs more than an SRT-4 and has less potential than an SRT-4. Come on.

hahaha...I know u ain't talking shit about the SRT-4's!! man those things R SUPER SWEET and Super FAST...my buddie just bought his about 5 months ago and I wouldn't mind having one my self...even if it's NEON...there pretty SWEET only down side on SRT4's is that there 5 Speeds and rev pretty quick around 5-6...still stock for stock an SRT4 would take down any RSX-S even the 05's!! by a good 1-3 car's...

Re: lude vs rsx s

anyways to ur question "LUDETECH" Lude vs RSX-S... for the money I would get a 5th Gen....Lude's R not much slower then RSX-S...at least stats prove that..

5th gen's 200HP 156 Torque 5 Sp..(ATTS only helps does not SLOW U DOWN test drive a BASE and SH..u'll C!!) I hate people who consider BASE better then a SH...GUYS this just in "IT"s NOT"..don't hate SH Lude's cause u didn't BUY ONE!! that's the simple FACT!! also lude's R suppose to weight a TONE right and I'm sure they do..but that h22 motor sure doesn't THINK SO ....a 5th Gen will run u a lot cheaper then an RSX a good...

RSX-S..210HP 130 Torque 6sp..they must be quick, fast, etc. but cost a BUNCH...if u can afford it go for it...but remember it's still a Honda so ur stuck on 14 sec's....for 25 plus??? I think NOT!!

Dodge claims 0-60 in 5.8. Car and Driver claims the 03 type s to be 0-60 in 6.1. I don't see a very big difference.

Re: lude vs rsx s

SRT-4s are now considered METOO cars. you go to any car hangout here in miami and the prevalent greeting is:

Person A - "What do you drive?"
Person B - "An SRT-4"
Person A - "Really?!?!?!? ME TOO!"

they're starting to become much more common than civics. i like ludes for relative exclusivity. i won't say those little neons aren't fast, they really are, but i don't like being like everyone else

Re: lude vs rsx s

I've driven the new SRT-4, in a course. For a four door sedan, it handles almost as well as my Prelude. It has a stock LSD, and while my cockpit is certainly nicer I can't deny that the SRT-4 has been well designed. This is no Camaro or Mustang, I think GM has finally gotten the right idea.

Granted, I don't want one, but I see it as a very good platform for those looking for quick and easy power. It's as common as a Civic because, well... it's as cheap as one.

Re: lude vs rsx s

I have a 97 lude with header exhaust intake ... i was on the thruway one night coming home from my gfs and a blue srt 4 pulled up next to me... so we started having some fun ... we started at like 80 and both downshifted , i kept close until we hit like 110, and after that he just kept gaining car lenghts... it is definitly faster than the prelude and the rsx , he hit atleast 140 like nothing
