cylinder #2

hey guys, know this might sound stupid but im not all that knowledgable on these cars.... I've got a '95 Tsi fwd, my "check engine" light just popped on this morning and ran the code on it and it said misfire in cylinder number two. HOWEVER, idle and low rpm's are a little rough but middle rpm's and freeway cruising feel/seem fine (haven't taken past 4 due to not knowing what the exact prob is). Just wondering if there is a common prob with this, i read something about the 2nd cylinder being prone to failing. Any input would be great, i'd rather avoid taking to a shop if i don't have to.....

oh yea, and which way do you count to find cyl #2
