Angry Missfire below 4500 RPM's

I have a '95 non-turbo eclipse. It seems to misfire below 4500 rpm's, the idle is a bit rough but not terrible. Sometimes when letting off the gas it takes a few seconds to idle down staying at around 2500. I've changed plugs (twice) and just now changed wires, no change... I've run out of things to do... any help??? Thanks

Follow up

Ok here is more info. I just re-gapped the plugs @ .050 (they were clean) and cleaned the ITS, it seems to have helped the idle a bit but still it misfires and loses power below 4K-4.5K. After it reaches around 4k it runs awesome, lots of power and smooth. Could it possibly be a coil pack? (it checks good) Crank or Cam sensors? Geeeze

Re: Missfire below 4500 RPM's

No help on this? I suppose my problem is to common with these clunkers, read several (and I di mean several) post about these problems and they all seem to be hit and miss about what it takes to repair. Guess I'll just keep driving it til whatever it is falls off.

I have the same problem with my car but I only get it at idle I dont feel it when driving, Im going to change my plug wires and the fuel filter see if this gets rid of the problem it all started when I changed the plugs to the BPR6ES instead of the BPR6EKN so that might be the problem to

Re: Missfire below 4500 RPM's

it's strange.... seems all all have similar but not exact same problem. my situation is that after i change my stock plugs to NGK 7es (300mi after) it started misfire below 1500rpm. it usually gets better after it warms up. usually it's the worst when i take her out first time in the morning. i am going to try and gap them again or switch to the factory sometime later in the future. got a more serious problem in hand right now.

Re: Missfire below 4500 RPM's

.04?.. isn't the default should be .028. opening it up more will just make the misfire worse.

my factory manual for the gs says .050 is standard, but a lesser gap performs so much better.

Re: Missfire below 4500 RPM's

so, should I gap the plugs at .028? Ive tried both .040 and .050 (yes the manual says .050) Just throws me for a loop as to why the thing runs so smooth after 4k.. its like the turbo kicks in... but yet I have NO turbo!!

Re: Missfire below 4500 RPM's

.028 is the number for all NGK BPR7ES. perhaps i can try gap it down to .026 see if that helps.

.28 is turbo, .40 or whatever is non turbo.

Re: Missfire below 4500 RPM's

sooooooo having them gapped at .040 and still having the problem.... I need to look elsewhere... other than plugs?? I'm 'bout ready to try 4-sale to see if that fixes it.
