Well I would ditch everything. Lightning audio is sold at wal mart, and you dont want anything from there. Tell us what your price range is and we will help you out.

Personally, I like my alpine type s subs and my memphis amp, they are good for what i need.

ok sorry bout that. Most people reccommend Adire Audio subs. you can only get them online from adireaudio.com. Most of the people recommend the Brahma 15 inch that runs around $500 or so shipped to your door. They recommend you build your own custom box. As for an amp, http://www.edesignaudio.com/edamps.htm. Go there and look at the nine.1, it is recommended a lot

As far as speakers, i would go with a good component system in custom kick panels. Alpine makes good components for the price, i love mine. you can also find some at adireaudio.com. Then i would amp them with the nine.2 from the edesigns website in my previous post.
For the back i would put in whatever fits in the brackets if you have brackets. 6*9 boxes look tacky IMO so if you want 6*9's i would have someone mold some enclosures into the side of the car, but that could get expensive.

Re: wanted help on what 2 get sounds wise

In new zeland. wow. well with 1500USD in the US if installing everything yourself you can get a prety decent system. i dont know if DDaudio is sold in New Zeland (or if DD will ship over seas to non distributors) but i know RE is sold all over and so is Brahama (i beleive). Crystal audio is also a good company to look at. but he is right Lightning audio is crap. Migh as well keep your OEM system if looking at lightning audio. but if yo uhave 1500USD then here is a system for ~ 1300 USD. the other 200 should cover most of the extra shipping.

Sub Stage
1 RE SX 12" woofer ~550 USD
1 Hifonics BX1000D ~270 USD

Mids/Highs
Crystal Audio CPE60t Componet Set ~270 USD
1 Hifonics Warior Falcon ~ 130 USD

Head Unit
Alpine CDA-9825 ~200 USD

Total: 1220 USD

Some other costs such as building materials and wireing will be another 150-400 USD depending on how much stuff like MDF and decent woofer wire cost over there. then the extra shipping and handleing, or if there are distributors for hifonics, crystal audio and RE over there. that one RE SX 12" will hit alot herder and be alot clearer than your two lightning audio subs. but if it where me id make a sleeper out of that car. not load it down with 200+ lbs of stereo equiptment.
