3 years sitting
The camaro im going to get has been sitting for three years in this guys garage. Im jw what I should do with it to make sure its all good to go. Not a total rebuild cuz it has low miles, but should I just take it apart and put in new gaskets or what? any inputs good.

(4ishMPG no joke) Wait, let me get this straight...Your honda has 1.6 liters, but my bottle of Mountain Dew has 2!?

I'm no expert on this but usual checks I would imagine is make sure theres no rot, there gas/fuel pump is good, maybe change the oil, stuff like that

Ya the gas will probably be bad and possibly the tires. I hope it hasnt been sitting in grass or anything.
I dont know why you would replace the gaskets if theres nothing wrong with them though?? Definately change the oil and coolant though!

Squirt some oil in the cylinders and rotate it hand (if he hadn't bothered starting it while it sat). If no oil had been flowing, the engine is dry and could damage the rings. Change the oil asap with anything and a cheap oil filter to clean all the shit out of the pan and in the heads. Run it for a little bit and put good oil and filter on it.

well, its been sittin in a garage??? my guess is its fine, fire it up, if it dont blow smoke, or hemorrage fluids it should be fine. you might have some flat spots on the tires from sitting, and maybe a little dryrot, but its not like its been there 30 years or anything.

i would definitely pull the spark plugs and put a little bit of oil into each cylinder. let that sit for a while then try to turn it. that'll help to prevent your piston rings from busting if they happen to be rusted to the cylinder walls. they probably aren't, but i figure better safe than sorry. also, check all your fluids before you start her up...

I will probably pull the plugs and do the oil deal. Its been in a garage, and I wouldnt doubt that he has it on stands or jacks. I heard oil and gas gets gunky and bad after 5 years usually, but I'll at least throw in some of that stabilizer or breakdown whatever stuff. Thanks for the suggestions.

I find myself in the same position as you. I just picked up a '92 that has been sitting for three years also. I had it towed here cuz i dont dare start her without changing out every possible fluid in this thing. If i get all that crap running through the system... itll be hell to pay.
So far everyone is right about one thing... OIL FIRST. Change that and the t-fluid if it needs it. Also, check the brake fluid. Mine is pitch black. Im gonna bleed them tomorrow and chean it all out. You should also flush out the radiator and clean that sucker out. And then make sure to do what the vets above have said, like change the tires and check any wiring that might need replacing.
