intake (hks vs. apexi vs. k&n)
which one is the best in terms of more hp gains? is there a website or a shop that sells turbo intake pipe for mr2. i could only find filters, but never a pipe (like those chrome non-turbo intake pipe). i know they have to be custom made, but is there a shop that sells them? any informations would be much appreciated. thanks.

Apex or K&N are both fine.
I would avoid HKS at all costs. I highly recommend the K&N.

Re: intake (hks vs. apexi vs. k&n)
But the Apexi is so easy to clean! (and provides great filtration)

Re: intake (hks vs. apexi vs. k&n)
i posted a link in another thread (in mr2s) about air filters, its a comparison between apexi hks K&N standard and maybe another...

Re: intake (hks vs. apexi vs. k&n)
yes, but that comparison is comparing the K&N that comes in K&N's "kit" for the MR2.
It is not comparing the K&N I use :

Re: intake (hks vs. apexi vs. k&n)
yeah i noticed that hehe... Jeffs one is huge, i was looking at doing the same but the local dealer was useless. anyone who doesn't know the normal K&N pod for an MR2 is about half the size of Jeff's one pictured, so his should flow LOTS. Just might let stuff through.

Re: intake (hks vs. apexi vs. k&n)
I think the normal K&N for the MR2 is 6" X tapered down to 5" and it is 4" long.
Mine is 6" tapered to 5" and it is 12" long ... so it is almost 3 X the size
