Question belts 1991 chevy silverado

MY A/C was working and i put the Heater on to defrost the windows and I trough my belt that controls it all. The truck starts but It wont go far on power steering the temp says running hot it is the main belt how do you insatll a new belt

Take the old belt, if you still have it, to someplace like autozone or napa. Tell them you need a serpentine belt for your truck. They will be able to get you a new belt that matches.
On your truck there should be a diagram of how the belt fits around the pullies. Use that as your template. Then, all you need to do is thread the belt on. there will be a tensioner pulley leave it for last. When you get to the tensioner pulley loosen it it, or if its spring loaded release the pressure on it, and slip the belt over it. Retighten or make sure the pulley tightens back up. There should be about an 1/8-1/4" of travel in the belt per foot. that should be it.

Do not run or drive the truck without the belt. Your water pump runs off that belt, thats why the truck is running hot. If not careful, you can crack the block or head, very bad news.
