Exclamation should i drop a v-tech in my 85 lude? i got 6k

i was wondering if you could help me with something, im in the military in japan at the moment and ill be back in mississippi in dec, ill have 6k saved up to dump into my 85' honda prelude, it has 170k on a rebuilt engine, manual 1.8L it runs great but id like to beef it up, what do u think i should do? i have a muffler and air filter on it. i wanna get headers/high flow cat/wheels/spoiler/airbags/bodykit but 1st i wanna work on the engine
i was gunna bore it out port polish but i think that would be a waste i think. should i just get a new V-tech and drop it in???
if i get the V-tech will i have enough money to do anything else to it?? thank you for your help

well the Vtec motor is not that pricey you can get a h22 shipped for around 2.4k but the install on something that old might cost more than its worth... the issue is your car is obd 0 unless you swap in a b16a from and SIR ( again i don't know how compatible that is) your going to have to sorce a wiring kit or a repetable shop to do the swap either way it could get expensive. If you want cheap speed i would either
A:build home brew turbo kit, (this could be a problem with a carborator)
or
B: Nitros it to death.
sorry to be the bearer of bad new but swapping motors in a lude that old just isn't that common so i would sespect it will be expensive or rather reserch intensive. BEST of Luck !

I wouldn't deal with it. Get a new car bro. Thats a good amount of down payment.

Re: should i drop a v-tech in my 85 lude? i got 6k

first you got to get it to fit.
Honesly, it is not worth puting 6 g's in a prelude that old. Shit 85 is fuckin old. Sell it for
$800, if you can even get that much, and use the money to AT LEAST buy a 1999 or 2000 Prelude, or something.

Buy a cobra, you can find them that cheap if you look hard enough.
