shifter problem (need help asap please)

I got a 2000 Accord v6 EX and i jus got done doing a blue LED conversion from 99accord.com, but when i tried to drive home my shifter button wouldn't press and move, i pumped my brakes with the engine off and on and tried almost everything a normal person would, the only way i got home was by pressing that white override button next to the shifter.
Is there any way i can reset it or somethin so i dont have to press the button everytime i want to get out of park?
any help would be greatly appreciated!.....THANKS!

Re: shifter problem (need help asap please)

The park release solenoid is controlled by the brake pedal switch. The solenoid is controlled by voltage from the same circuit that powers the backup light and the brake light switch along with the requirement that the shifter be in park. All three conditions must be met before the solenoid will activate. So does the backup lights work? Does you brake lights work? If not check fuses. Do you have a lighted P on the the dashboard gear position indicator? If not check, the shifter switch located on the left side of shifter in the center console.
