1959 190 Sl

I just wanted to know what the biggest engine will fit in a 1959 Mercedes 190 SL because I have a rolling chassis with no engine or trans.

Thank you,

Kosta

Well considering that the 4.5l SOHC V8 came in later model SLs, that engine will probably fit....but if you want something cheap that actually will perform better, I'm sure a Chevy small block would go too...

If you really want to keep it a sports car, any modern 4 cylinder turbo engine will have more than enough room.

The 4.5l isnt that expensive IMO, you can find decent ones fairly easily in my experience
