2000 intrepid Chirps

Recently when i start my car it makes a ticking or chirping sound for a few minutes. Usually stops after i am driving. CAr only has 47000 miles and is in great shape. Belts replaced within 6 k , and all maintenance done. Any ideas what it might be?

Re: 2000 intrepid Chirps

the ticking sound you hear is a result of the rocker arms not having enough oil in them. Give it about a few minutes for the oil to hit it and the sound will go away. Sometimes to make things better, try using a thicker grade of oil. If you have the 2.7 liter, although Chrysler recommends 5W-30, try using 10W-30 Synthetic oil and that should cure your problems.
