depends on what you want. you want to go faster or look nicer? i would go with the headers...i like the intereior kit except for that funky ass Z embedded in the seat.

do you need a new clutch? if so...i wouldnt buy a brand new OEM one because you can probably get an aftermarket one for a little bit more money.

LED gearshift knob??? no. not for me.

floor mats are nice.

also, look at midpipes, JWT pop charger ($100, or make your own), ECU upgrade($300-$500). brake upgrade(rotors, SS lines, pads. $400-$600), JDM tails ($350), clearcorners ($100), cat-back ($600-???), front and rear strut bar ($100-$300 each), lowering springs ($250), etc.

also...if your looking to upgrade your engine look at "broke as ****" sticky. something about "destroying the world in a Z".

What are you looking to do with the car? If you can answer that, your original question becomes 100000000000 times easier to answer. If you're just randomly upgrading things with no mind as to what you want the car to be then you'll probably just end up broke and unhappy.

Re: Help Should i Purchase this stuff for my z32?

I want Performance but i need to fix my interior i was just lookin around, i already have a cat back i should switch the downpipes and a new cadalitic converter, the interior needs work, i need a new drivers seat theres a huge gash in it, but i cant find a tan seat, my door pops when it opens so i need a new bolt for that, i was thinking of a cold air intake, headers, JWT popcharger? ECU chip where can i buy a reliable one?

ECU: http://www.z1motorsports.com or http://www.jimwolftechnology.com

there used to be a company that sold full interior kits for the Z. it was ztoyz.net but i havent been able to find what happened to them for a few months.

A popcharger will probably be the first thing to do performance wise. Most increase in Hp for the money and easiest to install. More power would probably come from headers, and a set of test pipes with high-flow cats in them but thats almost a thousand dollars between those two things. And remember, since its an NA engine, if you put a really high flowing exhaust on it, its going to be loud. All the time. That can get annoying after a while. An ECU isn't really a must with a NA engine but it will give you a slight boost and make it safer to run the engine hard.

The Z32 already has a cold air intake. It sucks air straight from the nose of the car.

The drivers seat can probably be fixed. You'd really be surprised what a good leathersmith can pulloff. Call around to some local shops and have them look at it.

I have a TT but I have heard from many that headers are a waste on an NA 300ZX that you are better spending it on something else.

Re: Help Should i Purchase this stuff for my z32?

I would say that at best you would only gain about 15BHP with headers, the best way to make power with them is to replace ALL exhaust components in on shot this will make for a better flowing exhaust system. I am planning on this set up for my exhuast.
Stillen Ceramic Headers- est. 10-15BHP gain
Spec Z Highflow cats- est. 5-15bhp gain
Borla catback exhaust- est. 5-15bhp gain
for a nice total of about 2400 dollars (US). At best I might see about a 45 Bhp gain or a 25-30whp gain. This isnt great but its good enough for now. When I get it all done in about a year, at this rate of saving, I will dyno it and find out if my calculations are correct. And they should be I havent been wrong before. BUt to be realistic I think I will probly gain about 32-34bhp so maybe 20ish whp. Still not to bad of gains on a NA Automatic set up.

Like I said, not from personal experience but from NA owners and a performance shop here that did an install and saw almost no gains on the dyno.

I agree that a free flowing exhaust will do a great job in freeing it up, plus a crank pulley, ECU, intake will probably be the best investments in power and then do handling mods.

these headers are claiming 18-22 HP...i have heard that the stillen add even more. and from what it sounds like, thats if your car is completley stock you can see gains of 18-22 hp.

i dont know though. companies exaggerate. try it and tell us what you saw. i dont think anybody on this board has a set of headers.

Re: Help Should i Purchase this stuff for my z32?

I never take what the companies say on their parts as fact. I take their numbers and cut them in half and that gives me a good baseline to start with. Even then 9-11hp is not a bad gain for those parts alone. And even then 18-22bhp is at the flywheel HUGE differance than at the wheels. And those are the numbers that matter.

I do like the floormats...... I need to get a set for my car. Problem is not many out there go well with the tan/brown interior.
