Angry Bad oil pump?

Iv been searching for days to find a solution, and no answers yet. I have a 90 talon 2.0 wil a jdm motor. (non turbo) my oil light is constantly on, and theres lots of oil in the motor. New filters have been put on as well as oil. for some reason the cylinder head isnt getting much oil. When i start my 92 turbo awd and take the oil cap off the valve cover oil shoots out, but in my 90 thers none, u cant even see it splashing around. i took the valve cover off and theres hardly any oil on anything. i think its my oil pump, but i need some opinions, and if so some directions/pics on how to replace it, thanks

Re: Bad oil pump?

The oil pressure senders should be the same, try swapping them and see what happens. The sender can go after a while. On the 2g turbo car, the front one is the light, the rear one is the guage. 1g turbo should be the same. Changing the pump is a huge project for most poeple, and it may not even be the pump. A worn out motor will allow more oil by th bearings and such, lowering pressure.

Re: Bad oil pump?

Well, I guess the next logical step is to replace the pump and hope the motors good. The pumps dont usually fail unless crap goes through them, and the same crap will go through the motor. I recently had an oil pump shaft walk sideways through the front cover. The oil pan was full of aluminum...

You can use the bshaft removal vfaq to see how the pump is changed. If you still have balance shafts I would pull the motor to make it easier.
