i just bought an s14 and have a new intake exhaust and suspension on the way for it. But on the stock air box i notice two sets of wire that connect to it. One connects to a small black box and the other connects to the air box itself. What are these for and does anyone have any idea what dissconnecting them will do (if anything)?

disconnecting them would get your engine light to come on, the one that goes to the black box i assume you are talking about where the actuall square filter is, .. your intake will come with a section right next to the filter that you can connect that to, and the second connection that goes in the MAF Mass Air Flow.
here is a link on how to install the Intake, http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/...take/index.htm |

Re: 96 240 intake questions
the one in the filter box is the temp sensor i believe and you will have to remove that from the filter box and install on the maf adapter. The maf itself will have to be used as well.
