can a 350z beat a subaru wrx not an STI?

I was wondering my buddy just bought a 2005 subaru wrx and its stock, I have 2004 touring, hes talking mad head. can a subaru wrx take me?

if its not a STI, you should waste it. i think the sedan WRX is only putting out like 225 HP to the crank plus it only weighs like 200lbs less. that shouldnt even be a race. the STI and 350z would be a good race not the sedan.

STi would smoke it, i dont know about regular WRX

I saw a race between a stock STi and a stock 350z, it smoked it (in real life i saw this, not some video)

I saw in a magazine add for a wrx and it staed it was faster than the 350z, Srt-4, S2000. this was a subaru add not an aftermarket add so it made me think are u guys sure. So the sti will smoke me? O and one more question no one replied me about the conversion from a navigation system to a dvd player. Do u guys no anything about it?

Not sure about that. Keep the Navigation, and add the DVD somewhere else.

regular WRX's are really fast, it think their 0-60 isn around 5.5

i think the 350z will still beat a regular WRX but i must have under estimated the power of the regular sedan. i retract my first statement of it being a easy kill for the 350z. i just looked up some stats ranging from 14.1-14.8 for the WRX sedan.

STi's would win because they have a turbocharger but despite that are only just better than the Z. Should the Z get a turbo or supercharger then it would smoke the STi

If you can launch really well, you should take him no problem. The WRXs can launch pretty easily, thanks to their AWD, so you're gonna have to do the same. His gears are shorter than yours as well, giving him an advantage in the quarter mile, but you should rip him to shreds on the freeway.

just because your car is turbcharged doesnt mean it is better. actually a n/a pushing the same HP, weighing the same, and have the same set-up will beat a turbo pretty well because a turbo comes with lag. n/a is instant power. STi is turboed but it couldnt hang with a vette, lamorghini, or ferrari.

STI will beat a 350z unless the driver totally sucks. but the STI is also 30k+.

33K for the good one? You retarded? The base model is the best, same power but wieghs less, that's 26K. Lots of Features does NOT mean it's faster, you add 300lb's of extra crap the car get's slower. Leather, Nav, Sub's... that stuff slows the Z down, with the stock power. So if you don't care about HID's get the base, that's as you put it, 5K for mods, and you'd own a WRX, specialy if you can get a good deal on a greddy TT kit, 5K's almost enough... 300HP to the wheels with out an intercooler, at 5 or 6 PSI ...
