Why Wont My Car Die!!

I have a 1985 cutlass ciera and well this thing will not die!
Not that I’m complaining I’m just confused.
You see this I got this car from my sister for free and it was
already almost dead, she had hit a telephone pole (with me in it)
but with a little frame work new windshield and a new door
which is actually a century door that’s a different colour it lived. Then I
got it. In my month of driving it I have put no money in to it expect for gas because I figure it will drop dead any moment. I’m afraid of putting more then 10 dollars worth of gas in for fear of it dying and me wasting that extra gas money. The carburettor leaks, the engine over heats and smokes, only one of the
power windows work (luckily driver side) none of the power locks work, the steering wheel locks when I try to turn right sometimes so I try to go left as much as possible. To top it off the muffler fell off so I stuck a cherry bomb over top of the pipe and it’s held on by a coat hanger. Which happens to be the same coat hanger that I used to pull the keys right out of the ignition and through the century side door (cuz the door doesn’t fit right and you can pull it half open with the help of 3 other guys) the time I locked my keys in. Hey give me a break I have only been driving a month!. But my question is, the 1985 cutlass ciera is it a really reliable car or did I just get a car with the will to survive? Like I am not an idiot I keep the fluids up and such but
but this car should be dead.
