99 continental idle
Hi folks, new to this forum. I have a 99 continental that ran fine yesterday, today it will start, and as long as I give it some gas pedal will run ok. However, it won't idle by itself. Where should I start? Any idea how to access and decipher the trouble codes? Thanks for your help.

I would check the MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) and give it a good cleaning with an electric parts quick drying spray. If that doesn't work, your idle air control valve may not be working. You can take this off also and spray Gumout to rid clogging carbon deposits. Then you could check the idle control sensor next to the idle air control valve. Hopefully you have a chiltons handy to understand what I'm talking about here. Good luck.
