Glove compartment light on 04 SLT

A newbie here just picked up a new 04 yukon SLT w/ full-power and leather. I opened up my glove box up last week at night and noticed there is no sort of illumination in the compartment. Not just a burned out bulb but no wire or receptacle.

Hard to believe that a $40k + truck would be lacking a light in the glove compartment. Furthermore, my sister has an 01 yukon SLT and upon further inspection she has a light in there. What gives?

Although my ride doesn't have the puddle lights/mirror turn signal package, do I only get a glove compartment light with that package or did mine miss that turn on the assembly line? Man, even my 01 tundra XC had a glove compartment light and it cost half the price.
Any info?

It's GM trying to squeeze more profit out of their vehicles by eliminating a lot of the "little" stuff out of them; I have a $50K '04 DXL and it has no glove compartment light either.

If you look ever further, you might find that there is no keyhole on the front passenger door handle either. Also, the two rear-door panel "courtesy" lights no longer light up either--they are just dummy reflectors, for lack of a more proper description.

I could go on and on...but I think you get the idea...

Also,on my sisters 01 slt yukon I believe there is a light under the hood. My 04 lacks that as well.

my 99 has a light under the hood.. but.. i think its a dummy - Good bulb... no illumnation.

Yeah, they took that out in '03 as well...
