What is it with new Dodge Ram drivers?
Do they just HAVE to prove themselves to every fucking old, red Sentra that just happens to cross their path, while the Sentra driver is minding his own fucking business?
If you guys recall, I posted a sprint I had with one of the infamous Hemi-Ram trucks, while out driving around. Well, I had a couple more, the last two days, with three more new Ram drivers, two of them Hemi guys. First one was when I was just trying to get to work. Coming off a light, as I'm cruising, I see a work-van, maybe a little over an eighth of a mile ahead, that seemed to be going slower than even my 40-50 mph cruise. I dropped it into 2nd, to simply speed-up a bit, and come around the truck that was next to me. Nothing aggressive, just didn't want to get stuck behind a traffic-causer. So, Mr. Ram decides that it was fucking rude that a mere Sentra would want to get in front of him (mind you, there was no traffic really, beyond the van), and he started to get on it too, which I notice. I look to my left, and right next to my head, right behind his right parking-light was a tell-tale badge. "Hemi", it said. Figures. I step on it full-on, and get his front-bumper about a foot behind my rear-bumper. THAT caught his attention immediately, and he went WOT too, which stopped my pull. This was a single-cab Hemi, so I figured it'd be a lot closer than the 3-4 cars I put on the king-cab Hemi I raced. From 2nd, to about the middle of third, it stayed that way, with me gaining maybe a few inches. When my third gear hit my 5-6K rpm sweet spot, however, I started to pull a bit better, putting him a full carlength behind me, allowing me to get in front of him as I change lanes to not rear-end the van that was in the beginning of the story. I finished third, and speed-shifted into 4th for good measure, and added maybe another 3/4 car to our distance. This is when he fell back dramatically, as he gave up. Bet he won't look at old Sentras the same again. The second, and third encounters happened this morning. One was with a non-Hemi from a stop, as he thought he'd try and beat me for this merge. It was a LONG merge, with more than enough room to get up to 100+ in my car before it actually merges, and with both of us at the head of the light, with no traffic, or possibility of cops ahead, I actually took it there (adrenaline helps me wake-up ) after I let him have the jump (I wanted to see if he would actually try, as he was behind me before this, and was tailgating like a mofo). He was an easy 10+ cars behind. It was a heavy mofo, a crew-cab. Stayed on it too, like he felt he'd get me top-end.Third and last, was a just a simple freeway sprint, 70 to 90. He tried to cut me off, but I changed his plans quick, as I siimply matched him, while I was in 4th (could've went to 3rd). This was a Hemi also. I dunno, the new Ram drivers seem to drive pretty aggressively, for having to haul 5K lbs of truck behind them. Geez.

It's the word "HEMI" that does it for them I guess. Along with the new Ram drivers, I get a lot of shit from the new Durangos as well. Man, when and if I get a VR4.....they are going to want to sell their cars.
I think it's basically a pride thing. I know hemi's are good engines, but Dodge just marketed them too retarded, and now soccer moms and guys with no clue of cars go out and buy them for the infamous tag. Of course there are people who know their engines, but can we not see a rising occurence in incidences like this? Nice kills man, and keep on killing. Anyone who thinks they are badass because of a tag on their car needs to be shut down. |

You know, I think that the Hemi is a great engine. However, these guys need to get a clue. They are driving a 5,000 pound brick. The Hemi in the trucks was never meant for speed.
Good kills, guys like that give Mopar fans a bad name because they are so stupid. |

Re: What is it with new Dodge Ram drivers?
Damn, those trucks are so heavy they need a friggen Hemi to just move. I think all truck (SUV and Pickup) speedfreaks and show boats are dangerous as hell. I've had my run ins with them, and the entire time you never feel safe, being about half their size...Good kills.

Re: What is it with new Dodge Ram drivers?
yeah, my buddy Aaron just bought himself a nice ol Hemi pickup. The very first day he asked me to race my civic. I shrugged and said "Sure." Even the Civic beat him, to this day he doesn't think his truck is worth racing. Nice kills. late...
