What the hell kind of parenting can the child have had that they would even consider attacking an adult with a machette? Let alone the fact that there was one sitting in the front yard. Charge the parents with negligence too.

My friend's house always had BB guns and machetes laying around the yard when we were younger than that. He turned out alright...
