Angry Done with it!!

I'm finished with my Silverado!!!!.Nothing but problems with this truck from day one. I wanted to support the American product but its hard to keep your head up when the dang thing always breaks down.It really earked me when I was still makeing that monthly payment and on top of that haveing to send this truck into the shop constantly. The service that I was given when I would bring my truck into the shop was terrible. I was accused of going off road with this truck, driveing it too hard, letting it run out of fuel, not letting the truck warm up for five minutes before I start to drive,on and on and on from the service department. First of all I have done nothing but pamper this truck since it was brand new.Never been off road but some how it doesnt stay in aligment, never let it run out of fuel but fuel pumps keep going out, makes A terrible rattle noise when you first start up but now they say its my fault because I didnt let it warm up for 5 min before I start to drive. They are full of excuses!!
I got so fed up with this truck I abandoned the whole idea of A good American product any more. I'm done!!!Packed up the truck and took it down to the dealership....Went home with A full size 2004 Nissan Titan 5.6 v8 305 hp. Sorry guys had to do it!!

Hope you have better luck with the nissan, but it's built by americans too. The plant that builds them is in Brandon Mississippi.

Re: Done with it!!

I'm well aware of that.I was just tired of getting the run around from the chevy dealer.I have nothing against American workers just some of there designs for the chevy turck are very flawed.NO help from Chevy...
Grew tired of pouring money into A truck that I was still paying on and the dealership telling me it was all my fault.

Well, if you're looking for a Titan forum, check out http://www.nissanfrontier.net. It's mostly a Frontier site, but they've got a Titan forum as well, and are a nice/helpful bunch of guys.

I had a 2000 Frontier CC SE prior to owning this Silverado and still browse the forums there of occasion.

Re: Done with it!!

Suppliers are being choked to death by GM! with ever increasing savings requirements or else they lose the contracts! while still fulfilling all of their specs, you know what is really killing GM? their pension plan, for every worker they have three retirees are picking up a very fat check, I´m not saying they don´t have that right, I´m saying the govement should pitch in with the bill! plus those union workers that are just impossible to work with they really got a sweet deal, no wonder trucks with VINs starting with 2 or 3 are increasing in numbers,

Well damn that sucks, sorry to hear that. Beware of the front brake pad issues with the Titans as they are a first model year you are going to have some problems with them. although I haven't seen anything to terible with them yet, but I've only worked at nissan for 6 months now.

You have to excuse my ignorance, but I don't understand the part about VIN's starting with 2 or 3. Can you elaborate?

I definatley agree with you! My 98 K1500 has been pampered regular maintenace. 87,000 miles and I can't even list all the problems I have had (major problems) check out my post in "Is the silverado..." it could be in C/K forum or siverado I forgot. Cheap ass parts are a big factor in this ongoing problem "buy OEM parts" people say. Thats all I buy, the OEM part is the part i'm replacing prematurly. So paying the extra for OEM just burns you alittle more. And as for service writers they are the most brain dead group of people, never listen to a word i'm saying. Just name and phone # is all they are programmed to listen too. Just talking about this makes me want to kill every chevy service writer in the world!First I would drag them, then I,d burn them, then hang them, and then I would kill them. I'm probally going to get arrested for threating there lives. But the quote "makes me want to" we want lots of things we can't have.So shove it service writers and the jackass you rode in on!

Whatever you wanna call it.
Remember you may need help on your truck some day and I could possably hav your anwser. I completely on the side of these guys here at this forum. How pissed would your vagina be if you had a $33,000 truck whitch was totally useless because of emmissions test fail and no one has the anwser? I'm driving a 1979 C20 now and have a beautiful truck with low miles sitting like a large paper weight. 19 year old engineer ...good 1

Re: Done with it!!

I wasent makin that comment on your problems with your truck, I would be pissed as well if my truck had thoes problems. And im sure sometime in the near future i will have some of them. I just thought it was a little over the top to be threating thoes people like that when all they are doing is theirs jobs. Shit, for all we know they might not (and abviousley dont) know anything about how these trucks work and some of these problems we have with them.
Look, I dident mean to start any bitterness between members by that comment, I was just being the jackassed 19 year old that I am.

p.s. project engineer is not like a electrical or geotechnical engineer...its more along the lines of a project manager in construction. But i dont see how my occupation has anything to do with this.
