Tailgate Window...Help!!! I cannot get it up!!!
My 93 4runner taigate window goes down but will not go up.....and it it is
raining out!! I hear that there is a lock out sensor which prevents the window from been raised and thus breaking the glass if one tries to close the tailgate with the window up. can anyone tell me where this sensor is and also where any relays associated with this window. |

Tailgate
I know my tailgate window won't even go up unless my tailgate is completely closed. I didnt have it closed all the way once and tried rolling up the window and I kept getting a beeping alarm.....I do know that when my window has problems going up I hold onto the window as I push the lever or turn the key and help guide it up. I hope this helps or you have already figured it out before it gets too wet!

Well it stopped raining and I went at it. i took everything out after trying to supply 12v+ direct from the battery to the green or red wire that are on the motor, no joy. So I took everything out like I said and stripped the motor to bits and went at it with a digital VOM evrything seems OK. Cleaned the comm. the brushes were OK, the capacitor was not shorted. So what the heck is wrong? BTW I did not go 12v + to red and - to ground or 12v+ to green and - to ground. Bear with me folks I am working without a manual I am going to try that 2morrow. What I did do was to remove the motor (watch that preload on the spring I nearly lost a finger.) and reinstalled the wholeshebang, and raised the the window up (with the taigate closed) by hand and locked the window up by installing the nogood sonofamotor with its 3 screws. Atleast now I can enjoy an airconditioned drive.
