engine swaps

i have a 89 toy sr5 with a V6 5spd extd cab reg. bed and want to swap the motor ,

i was thinking about going with a 2JZ twin turbo out of the MK4 supras and adding a stage 2 or 3 turbo upgade giving me about 500 to 600 horse power and also useing the supras 6 spd tranny and stock pickup transfer case.

Re: engine swaps

hey viper, i have heard that, theoretically, toyota vehicles with a rear wheel drive trans, the engine will bolt up, making a swap easy enough. but once again, theoretically. if you do the swap, what are you planning on doing with the v6?

Re: engine swaps

well, as i said, it is only theoretical. you would have to slide in and see if it actually fits. i was thinking of going with the i-6 3.0 out of the lexus is300. i was told that it should probably bolt up, but that i would have to make new motor mounts. once again, theoretical
