Coolent Disappearing.
Where is my coolant going. I filled it 4 days ago and its at minimum already. Is there anything wrong with using ford coolant. Am I supposed to just fill the coolant tank with coolant to the max line or am I suppose to dilute it.

supposed to dilute your coolant always. Have you checked your hoses, radiator cap and radiator itself? If you're car is smoking white, you might have a bad headgasket.

It's not smoking white and the sticker under the hood says never to dilute the coolant. What happens if I dont delute it?

From what I've been told, diluting coolant reduces coolant comsumption. And you want to use the coolant that honda recommends. Different companies use different formulas to make their coolant.

and some coolant comes "pre-diluted" so to speak, meaning you dont need to add water(itll say ready to use on the container). other stuff is supposed to be mixed like 50-70% with water.

I found out what the problem was. Th radiator is clogged or something because the coolent doesnt go anywhere after it goes in the radiator. It just stays there untill there is enough pressure under the radiator cap. Then it start going out through the cap. I took off the cap and turned on the car and I saw that the coolent was just rising until it went out. Should I flush the radiator or take it to a proffesional.

that sounds more like a headgasket to me. Pressure builds up in the radiator. It could be clogged sure but.... Ive blown 3 head gasket on my fucking B7. First time the coolant had no where to go, so the damn radiator exploded. Bad headgaskets cause compression pressure to go into your radiator. My headgasket got so bad that it only took about 1 min to fully burn the WATER I kept adding (Filled the ENTIRE RADIATOR WITH WATER/COOLANT). Actually the worst I got it to was where when I added water to the radiator, the water went STRAIGHT into the cylinder! (I killed the poor head gasket). The poor starter had to deal with temporary hydrolocking since there was so much water/coolant in the cylinder. The more you drive with a bad headgasket, the WORSE it gets in only days.

I have a 1994 honda civic dx 1.5L and i have began to lose fluid as well. I can see a spot under the car but i can't determine where it comes from. I think my water pump is shot but i'm going to replace it the timing belt, all new hoses and a radiator, if i'm going to be in there i might as well do it right. If any one has some suggestions and may think i have a huge problem, please let me know. I have no smoke coming out of the car, just loosing fluid rapidly.

hey its not a bad rad when the water boils out
when the water starts to get hot the water rises and if you open the rad and let the car get hot its gonna come right out of the rad if you dant belive try it on a car that has nothing wrong wit it

When my first headgasket went, my radiator exploded, Why? TOOO much pressure. Of course there will always be pressure but not the amount that I am talking about. Try turning on a car with a bad headgasket, radiator filled to the top, without the cap. After only .002 seconds of the cranking process, the radiator SHOOOOOOOOOOTS the water/coolant the fuck out of the radiator.

i siad if you take off the cap and start the car its gonna rise out of any car but i didnt see the part where he said it was comeing out when the cap was on to
