Question fiberglass anyone?

well...after a few more of those curb stopper things....i decided it was time to put on the front bumper from the crappy ebay bodykit....painted or no....anyways.....hehe....obviously there is a fitament issue...and luckily i think for the most part the main part fits...its just the upper part that attaches. anyways long story short...the bumper wont fit with the headlights on...the angle is wrong and a little wide..so i know have to cut and refiberglass that area so i can get my car legally on the road again. so i bought a bunch of fiberglass mesh stuff diffrent kinds...and i bought a fiberglass resin container(about a quart) and figure this is something ill have to learn to do without spending way to much at some body shop where theyll laugh at me for spending that much to put it on. anyone have any tips or anything with fiberglass? im always open to knowledge.

PS. thi bumper still looks PIMP not fitting on my car. so hopefully ill get pics up soon.

Well fiberglass is really easy to sand so if its only maybe half an inch or so instead of cutting it just sand if of it will take longer but better safe then sorry also. To make it fit better make brackets like if you cant attach it to the car because its too small or thin make a bracket from the bumper in a ticker part to the car and make little metal plates under the head lights so it pushes it up so there is no gap. I did all that crap it wasnt worth it cause my shit got smashed in at 1 mile per hour by old people and the entire bumper broke in half i cried and almost died.

Re: fiberglass anyone?

i thought urethane was awesome until the body shop guy told me that urethane "bends" and "weaves" in strong sunlight/heat. true?
