Any advice for a newbie?

I've got a stock 93 LX Accord w/ 140,000 miles on it.

Just read about Roger Foo's 95 Civic that kicked a lotta more expensive a$$ recently.

Was wondering about how to go about modifying my Accord and doing it correctly.

I'm a total newbie who's read a couple of magazines (Ok I didn't actually read them all the way through) so save your comments about my lack of knowledge. I'm here trying to work on that.

Looking for advice...links to good websites, steps to take if you were in my shoes, etc.

Thanks in advance.

EaCcOrdV6VTEC3rX,

Thanks! I didn't think I'd get a response this quickly. I just came back to add that I'm open just letting my wife drive the Accord, and looking for another Honda to play with.

From what I've seen in the buncha posts I've read since my first post, I think that for the most 1st place finishes for the buck, I'm gonna have to start with a Civic like Foo did.

If Civic is the way to go, do you (or anyone else) think that the 95 Si Hatchback that Foo started with is the best way?

I'm off to explore those links you gave me....

i don't klnow how to tell you this but the current engine your accord is gonna be slow no matter what. Accords are haeavy ass cars made to haul your family around town, and they can be made to look really cute and pimp. if u really want to make it faster you need a H22 complete swap in it (engine and tranny), and a new suspension since the h22 is heavier than the f22's, and then turbo it. it will really kick some ass then.

these are my favorites if i cant find it at ebay.
u might also want to look into package deals, some distributors give a pretty good discount if u buy several things at once.

Thanks for all the good advice.

I think I'm going to have to rethink my strategy. I'm now leaning towards trying to modify a Civic instead of my SDS Accord (thanks, Hondaman-iac).

I really appreciate everyone's replies. Maybe I'll see you guys around on the Civic section of this Forum.

But I do know that I'm going to have to read a whole lot more of what's already on these boards (good stuff!).

Again, thank you very much.
