type r emblem

has anyone swapped the acura emblem on the front out with the red H like the ones on the type r's. I saw an rsx with one on it and i was wondering if its an easy thing to swap out and look good.

Re: type r emblem

I think it's fairly simple to do. There are a bunch of posts on CRSX on how to swap emblems and such. You might want to take a look there.

Edit: Here, I did the search for you - http://performance.clubrsx.com/instr...demblemkit.pdf

This shows how to take the emblem off and put on the gold ones. So I assume the red H would be the same. Apparently it doesn't seem as easy as I would have thought! I'd hate to take off the bumper just to do that ! Maybe you should wait until you get a CAI and do both at the same time?

Re: type r emblem

Many people have done it, mmont0's post has the link and stuff.

I know it doesn't matter because its your car so do whatever you want, but IMO for that price just to say Honda? They're easy to steal, and H emblems are more popular than A emblems. Plus I think its sorta weird, and RSX'ers are one of the few who rebadge their cars. And the others are allllll japanese cars. You'll never see a Pontiac GTO with Holden or Vauxhall badges, a Saab 9-2X with WRX badging, etc.

It's like buying a Lexus and slapping a Toyota badge on it....

Funny you should mention that....I saw an IS 300 at my local mall the other day parked out away from the main grouping of cars. To my surprise (and disgust) it had been re-badged with Toyota emblems.

He had even gone as far as to put a white Toyota sticker stretching across the top of his windshield.

I think this guy has some serious issues. Maybe he wanted a Corolla all his life, but his parents got him an IS 300 instead, so he decided to make it into the car he really wanted, regardless of the original badges. Oh DARN. A Lexus instead of a Toyota.

Either that, or he slept with someone at the Toyota dealership that got him a discount on a used IS, and it's just his way of showing appreciation.

Re: type r emblem

Yeah, its amazing how much people will pay for JDM. 350 USD for a CF spark plug cover from Mugen, 80 dollars for a door sill that says Integra instead of RSX, a few hundred for exterior badging to say Honda Integra, up to 500 for a steering wheel with a red H, 70 bucks for a tow hook just because its mugen, etc.

The funny thing is that the JDM Type S has 160hp so people who have a "Honda Integra Type S" will mean they have a base

If I owned Mugen i'd crap in a cup and charge 60 cents per 100 grams.

Re: type r emblem

It's not like you're fooling anyone either, you know? I don't see your red Honda emblem and think you imported an Integra. If these people put that money into actual performance mods...

Canuck- I like your idea. Ebay is full of idiots. See that chunky brown smear on my hood? Yeah- that's right...it's Mugen biatch.

And Cartoys, an IS300 with Toyota badging?! Honestly, that's just a fucking travesty. You should have waited in the lot and beaten the owner soundly with a hose until your arm grew weary.

On that note...I think I'm going to go slap some Geo badges on my S. Maybe I'll fool a few Hyundai owners into racing for pink slips...

Re: type r emblem

I know this thread is a couple days old, but i saw it and had to throw in my two cents. Swapping teh acura badging out for honda badging is not a bad idea. If you consider that the ONLY place acura exists is in North America it is actually a good idea to go along with the rest of the world. I dont really agree with the red badging, i think it is almost as gay as the gold emblems, but honda badging on an acura is not as bad as going from lexus to toyota.

Re: type r emblem

we probably will never get those because acura says "there in not a big enough market for them". Which is actually kinda true, while many people want them how many can actually afford them and the insurance, and actually use the car the way it was meant to be used?

Re: type r emblem

Shitty looking Type S? Body kit, rims, and wing can all be added later......

And I like the red badging, but the thing is, I can't see justification in spending hundreds of dollars just to say Honda Integra. Hardcore JDM fans will love it, everyone else will laugh, especially me.

You're 100% correct. If you convert the currency for the price of an Australian Type-R into U.S. currency, it comes out to $32,198.
A British Civic Type-R comes out to $29,075.

That's way too much for a car with its roots in the economy car segment.
