98 Grand Marquis AC & turn signals don't work

Our '98 Grand Marquis has developed a problem with the AC and turn signals. It began with a bad AC compressor. I had it replaced and all was fine. Less than 2 months after installation of the new compressor it was locked up again and I took it back and had a warranty compressor installed to resolve the problem. Now the car is blowing the fuse for the AC and turn signals. I can replace the fuse and they will work fine for a day or two. But sometimes I can replace the fuse and they won't work at all. Lack of AC isn't such a big deal but I don't want to drive the car without turn signals. Does anyone know of a possible resolution to this problem? I've had a mechanic look at it and he offered to replace a switch in the turn signals however he said he couldn't guarantee that it would fix the problem.

I'd go back to the shop that did the AC work, they should offer to fix it for free since it was all fine until they mucked it up.
