O Z and Evo differences

Im in the process of buying an OZ Rally, but i was jus curious, what are some of the main differences between the Evo and the base models. i know the evo is turbo charged and AWD, but what about the size of the engine and specs....

Re: O Z and Evo differences

Well, I dont know much about the standerd Lancer, but I guess I can name a few differences. The Evo has a completly different engine (4G63) and it has AWD. It has a AYC which stands for Active Yaw Control, and it pretty much helps the Evo keep traction. Now, I dont know if they have the same chassis, which is my question. Does anyone here know if the Evo, and the Lancers have the same chassis? I know they have different suspension, but how bout the chassis?

Re: O Z and Evo differences

everything you just said. same chassis, but the evo has over 200 spotwelds to make the chassis stiffer. different wheels, tail lights and head lights. same glass parts.

Re: O Z and Evo differences

So what engine is in the rally oz, and is it even worth building up....meaning should I even think about a turbo, or should i jus stick with the basic stuff, exhaust system, chip, and maybe suspension and thats that?

i was looking at buying a regular lancer/oz rally/ralliart but there are no mitsu dealers within 100km (closest is either kitchener waterloo or barrie in Ontario). The oz rally and the regular lancer, etc, if you look at the spec sheet all have the same engine and transmission etc. Only difference is body packages and interior features

the sportbacks and ralliarts have a 2.4L /160hp engine whereas regular lancers and oz have a 2L that puts out ~ 120hp, the ralliart and above have a mivec engine kinda like a vtec

http://mitsubishicars.ca/MMSA/jsp/lancer/Specs.jsp

this is in canada anyways, there is a comparison chart. I myself would upgrade to the ralliart from the oz rally as it is approx 1000 dollars canadian difference for a bigger engine to handle that strain as well as the disc brakes on all wheels for the ralliart (rather than discs up front and drums in the back), they also come with 16" alloy rims rather than generic 15"

Really? I had no clue. Well, I know that the JDM and Eropean Evos get the AYC.
