Angry power lost radio now quit work correctly

All, I went on vacation, my battery died, put a new battery in and now my radio is screwed up.

The controls on the steering wheel don't work anymore. The CD player ejects CDs and doesn't play any. When you first turn the car on for the day, none of the buttons ON the radio work. Usually about 2 minutes in, I can use the buttons on the radio.

This doesn't make sense to me.

Is there some sort of security feature for the radio where it doesn't work properly after it has lost power. Some aftermarket radios do this.

Any suggestions or is it hosed???

Tom

What year is your expo? I would try this, take the negative terminal off of the battery for about 2 minutes and then put it back on. You may have spiked the radio and it needs to be reset. More then likely if you did "spike" the radio though it may need replaced. Also check your fuses with a DMM for continuity. Looking at them sometimes just isnt enough. Good luck to you.
