Unless your idle is low, there is no good reason to.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

ya i'm with Igovert. But the real question is, why would you want to increase your idle speed in the first place? Your original question is a bit vague.

Re: 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT

I didn't want to , it's not my car it's my friendsand we got into an argument over it, he said that it is suppose to be adjusted every 60,000 miles or something like that, and I told him that it shouldn't be adjusted, they are set at the correct idle speed from the factory, and i told him on most vehicles u can't adjust it b/c they fill the adjuster screw in with a putty type compound so u can't adjust it. and I told him that someone prolly removed the putty stuff from his. he just got the car 3 weeks ago from the police auction, and I was wondering if the throttle speed adjuster screw on you guys 3KGT is filled or can u adjust it.

NO STOP DONT! lol bad idea, could offset timing leading to bent/broken valves, broken pistons, AKA $BIG. It's set w/ regard to something else I forget at the moment...but there's a reason they put that filler in there. If you adjust it without knowing what to adjust it to, you could break the internals up bad, I know that much.

Re: 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT

Yea I know thats what I told my friend, he says his don't have the filler in it. I was wondering if all all your 3KGT's have the filler in them. cuz I told him someone prolly scraped it out. I dunno please let me know if all 3KGT's have the filler in the adjustment screw or if they do not. Joe [email protected]
