Cables
Have any of you had to replace shifter cables? I need to replace the selector cable for my 5 speed Getrag. My question is are the aftermarket ones worth it? As you know the cables aren't cheap and the aftermarket ones are about half the cost of the NOS ones. I've heard to stay away from them because the ends don't hold up.....is this true or what? And where would you suggest I buy one?

Re: Cables
I bought a used cable from Kick Hill and I was very happy with it. If you're going the new route, I'd trust the Fiero Store's stuff, but as far as the regular Auto Zone $20 special goes (or Checker or Advance Auto, whatever) you'd be better off with a kite string in a rubber hose.
The OEM Muncie-made cables are still available from Pontiac through any Dealer, as I had previously checked before I bought a used one. The price ain't cheap... over $250 - now that's one expensive cable!!!!

Wanted to buy: 86-88 Fiero GT, 5 speed, fixer-upper. Blown motor, no motor? No problem! Rusty unibodies need not apply. 74-79 Ramcharger or 100, slant or no motor - not interested in v8 - Overdrive 4 is a big plus, NO hopeless rust buckets!!! 3Rd gen F body floor pans/camaro door skin (L) Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????
