Angry 350Z... repainting......

Today i sprayed, as usual, the clear on my Gloss Alluminium 350Z... result.....

.....the clear "lifted up" all the fucked TS17, and now the body is laying in brake fluid.....

It's the first time i've painted something in TS17, i still don't know why the clear lifted that damn color. I used automotive two-components clear, as usual, i never had any problem with tamiya colors.

Probably, differently from other tamiya cans, TS17 REQUIRES PRIMER. I usually don't use primer with tamiya cans because there's no need to do that (this is what i tought before today).

Tonight i've tried to spray tamiya clear on another non-primed TS17 painted surface, with the same result.

Also my CLK-DTM is painted in TS17, but i primed its surface with tamiya primer, i hope this helps.

Tomorrow I'll try to spray on it some light coats of tamiya clear, befora applying decals, if this goes right (i hope) i'll place decals and then put a single coat of automotive clear, as usual.
If Tamiya clear, even sprayed on light coats over a primed ts17painted surface, screw up that damn gloss alluminium, another body will lay in brake fluid.......

DITTO

Ive said it several times....forget about clear coats. Spend the time on getting the paint perfect...rub it down with compound then polish it.
Have a look in the gallery of some of the ones i have done....not one is clear coated.

Hey Primera Man,

I've seen that most of your models have decals all over, so what is on top those decals if you don't use clear coats?

thanks.

Once the decals are dry, about one day later i use Tamiya Wax on them to give them a polish. (Dont use rubbing compound.) The wax will not harm the decal , it will give them a nice low gloss look, plus it removes the water stain's and gives the car one good final polish
