back up lights always on
my 1987 ram has alittle problem the back up lights are always on no matter what gear im in park, neutral, or drive. this is not the original transmission. this tranny it out of a 75 cadilaic eldorado ( tist the only thing that would work with my bigger engine) does any one know what i can do to fix it?

I've never heard of a tranny from a cadillac being put into a dodge... weird. that may be your problem. gm parts don't fit with chrysler parts you know. you need to see about modifying those parts to fit

the truck runs fine and everything the whole drive train was switched to work with the cadiliac engine and tranny

the wiring for the two transmitions are different. gm & chrysler used totally diferent wiring and switches.you have to find out how the old trans was wired and how your new one is wired.one might use a negitive ground & the other a positive ground.
