Service 4WD Switch
I have a 95 Grand Cherokee and the Service 4WD Switch reminder comes up on the info screen. I replaced the switch with a new one and have the same problem. The switch has the weather pac with 4 wires, Not the vacuum type. It seems like all is well, no noises or anything out of the norm, Just that annoying beeping and the reminder on the screen. Any help on a remedy? Thanks in advance. ....Ed

4WD Switch
Hey Croozer,
What did you have to do to fix your problem? I have the same issue with my on screen message center telling me that the 4wd switch needs to be serviced. Thanks |

A friend of mine who is a Chrysler rep said all that switch does is tell the info center that you are in 4 low or 4 high. It does nothing else. He said "Disconnect it" I did and it`s as good as new. The problem is in the transfer case where if someone forced the lever at any time the detent in the case would bend out of the way of the switch bottom so it would quit making contact. As he said...Just bells and whistles, Eliminate it and the problem is solved. Save your cash man...Disconnect it.
