hi, i got a 96 ranger 2.3L 5 speed. my left rear brake line blew and it runs up the frame rail to somewhere i cant see behind the gas tank. i gota stay home from college and fix it tomorrow, and before i do that i was just wondering if anyone was familiar with this and/or has any helpful tips or if i have to pull the gas tank (again

Too bad you didn't get any advice. I don't know much but I just had to replace the two lines along the rear axle going to the rear wheels. I tried to trace that line near the gas tank because it looked rusty. Well, remember you don't necessarily have to trace the brake line along the exact same path the old one went.

thanks giczei,
the job turned out to be alot easier than i thought, it only took me like 2 hours. i was just nervous because ive associated this truck with frustrating back yard jobs with limited tools and bad weather with alot of screw-ups. break lines arent too bad though. even with all that rust, they come off alot easier than they look like they should. thanks again. johnny |
