lost to a 2000 eclipse gts

yep, i lost, to a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gts supercharged... it is purple with a phat ass paint job that adds a goood 50 hp. I have a 97 gsx with some mods. Anyways, we have a perfect place we always race up here in superior, wi, and we have it marked off and stuff. Today in school ppl were talkin and talkin and talkin and when we showed up to race after school there was already about 10 or so cars parked there at the start and finish raedy to watch me win. So i launch from 5000 rpm and all four tires spin and the car twists a little to the left, i still jump out about 3 car lengths right away but he battled back and got me by about two fucken feet right at the end, ppl went nuts and we got out of there right away afraid that it would get called in. So yea, im pissed and dont know how a near stock gts could beat me in my gsx. I have 18 pounds of boost with intake catback, test pipe, denso plugs and wires and greddy front mount intercooler, i dont know what the supercharged eclipse runs with only a few mods dont like chip, exhaust and air filter. why does gsx have to be a pain after 60?

It's not the fact that it's AWD, it's the fact that the POS stock t25 turbo has no fucking top end AT ALL! I know it sucks . I still don't think he should have beaten you. Maybe you have a boost leak?

im not an expert on anything, but 18psi & a frontmount with the stock turbo cant be good on the turbo. ever thought about turning it down to 15psi? same up some $ and get a better turbo and you'll smoke his ass bigtime!!

OMG NOOOOOO!!!! You lost to a new body eclipse I personally have never heard of a gst or gsx modded or not, lose to any type of new body model eclipses. I have been reading dsm kill stories at different sites for about 2 years now too. I used to beat every model of the new body style eclipses all the time with my trusty T25 turbo boosting 15 pounds .Turn down your boost to 15 or 16 pounds because you are just blowing hot air on that T25 at that boost level. Oh, and another thing...MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOUR SOUL

i dont really know about 3gen eclipse, was it a v6 or sumthing?

GTS eclipses are the V6 model, but they werent available untill '01 or '02. in '00 i beleive their was only the RS, GS, and GT models. my advice would be to put some tires on worth having, turn the boost back down to the stock 15psi and make some practice launches. i dont see why your car should be side stepping running on the stock turbo. my

Well that body eclipse has 205 hp and runs 15.5 stock, but he had a supercharger and some mods so im pretty sure he was pretty quik. I can see why you lost. Keep fighting the good fight
